A Structured Pathway Into Professional Motorsport

The signing represents a significant step for the whole sim racing and motorsport community. RaceGen Driver Management, which operates in inseparable partnership with real-world racing team Scorpio Motorsport, was created to identify exceptional sim racing talent and provide structured career development—including coaching, career planning, team and series placement, sponsorship and media management, physical and mental preparation, and ongoing professional representation.

Larsen was personally identified and recruited by Ivan Taranov, who brings extensive experience from professional motorsport, having competed in Formula 2, Formula 3, GP3, Formula Renault, GT, prototype, and touring car racing, as well as serving as a former member of the Force India Young Driver Academy.

“Our objective is not simply to put Timothy in a racing car and see what happens. We want to prepare him properly. The GB4 test is the beginning of that process, and we will evaluate every stage of his development with the same level of professionalism we would apply to any racing programme.” — Ivan Taranov, Scorpio Motorsport & RaceGen

Donington Park GB4 Test Day & The 2027 Target

As part of the agreement, Larsen has already secured a funded test day in a Scorpio Motorsport GB4 car at Donington Park, providing his first structured opportunity to experience a professional single-seater environment.

The test is intended to be more than a one-off experience, but rather the first stage of a planned development programme with the longer-term objective of preparing Larsen for a full GB4 season with Scorpio Motorsport in 2027 and further progression through the ranks of open-wheel racing.

“Taking the step from the sim and into a real car is not as simple as just having sim success. Scorpio and RaceGen both know what it takes to make the jump, and have seen these values in me through my work of analyzing laps and races, ironing out mistakes, developing setups with an engineer, working with the team and actually competing for the top-step of the podium. Now, the work beyond the sim has started. I am incredibly grateful for the amazing opportunity I have been granted and for the faith the team has in me. I will give this my all.” — Timothy Friis Larsen, 3x iRacing Super Formula Champion

Supported by Sim Racing Nation and the Super Formula Community

Larsen's results have already attracted considerable attention within the iRacing Formula community. His Super Formula performances are broadcasted by SimSpeed and supported and organized by Sim Racing Nation and other incredible members of the Super Formula Community. The top split has also featured in iRacing's official weekly broadcast schedule, giving the championship an audience well beyond its regular competitors.

The first milestone is already confirmed: the GB4 test day at Donington Park. The longer-term target is clear: a full season of GB4 in 2027 and further progress through the higher ranks of motorsport.
