Two hours and 40 minutes of multi-class traffic around Watkins Glen may seem short for an endurance team, but it will still test their patience, and Round 3 of the 2026 IMSA Esports Global Championship on iRacing delivered drama right down to the final stint. When the checkered flag flew in Upstate New York, Enzo Bonito and Sam Kuitert brought the #33 Verstappen Sim Racing BMW M Hybrid V8 home for overall GTP victory.
Meanwhile in GTD, Vasilios Beletsiotis and Thibaud Prevot brought the #132 Bleu Mercure Esport Porsche 911 GT3 R from third on the grid to a second straight class win, using disciplined fuel-saving through drafting to jump up through the field during the pit cycle.
How the Race Played Out
At the start, Grid-and-Go.com eSports locked out the front row in GTP with its two Aston Martin Valkyries. Starting from third, Bonito kept the #33 Verstappen Sim Racing BMW close in the draft while the team focused on fuel strategy for the pit stops.
By taking on a bit more fuel during the first two stops, Verstappen Sim Racing needed less time in the box on the final stop and jumped ahead of the #7 Valkyrie. Up front, the #8 Grid-and-Go car driven by Jake Denehan and Sean Campbell looked set for the win until a late PC disconnect hit Denehan, leaving Kuitert and the #33 BMW clear to take the victory.
