The field of 100 fastest college qualifiers from across North America has officially been cut down to 40 finalists following an action-packed opening night in the eNASCAR College iRacing Series Battle at Watkins Glen International.

Racing the Ford Mustang GT4 in the season's first IMSA-backed road course tournament, two split groups fought through quarterfinal and semifinal heats to secure their spots in the upcoming November 4 Final Round broadcast, where a share of the $60,000 USD season scholarship purse is on the line. Full heat results are posted on iRacing's official recap.

Ault and Holmes Dominate Semifinal Action

In Group 1, tournament top seed Dylan Ault (California State University, Sacramento) put together a clean sweep: setting overall quick time in qualifying, winning his quarterfinal heat, and holding off newcomers Hector Collazo (Daytona State College) and Thomas Bellemin (Virginia Tech) in the semifinal. Over in Group 2, recent Queen City Crown winner Timothy Holmes (Horry-Georgetown Technical College) charged to the group win to lock in a front-row starting spot for next Wednesday's championship final.
