Playseat has officially unveiled the Playseat Evolution 2, a ground-up redesign of one of the longest-running and most popular cockpits in sim racing history. Built to meet the demands of modern entry-level and mid-range direct drive wheelbases, the Evolution 2 addresses chassis flex while maintaining its signature compact footprint.
The original Evolution was built during the era of gear and belt-driven wheels. With direct drive wheelbases now dominating the market, the Evolution 2 introduces heavy-duty steel bracing across the steering column and pedal tray to eliminate flex under heavy trail braking.
- Reinforced steel steering upright handles up to 10 Nm of direct drive torque without wobbling.
- Heavy-duty pedal plate supports load cell braking up to 100 kg without tray flexing.
- Telescoping adjustments fit drivers from 4 ft to well over 6 ft 6 in with quick-release knobs.
Eliminates the center-post pedal obstruction of older generation designs.
- Contoured bucket seat upholstered in breathable synthetic ActiFit fabric for long stint cooling.
- Patented fold-down backrest allows quick compact storage under tables or in closets.
- Pre-drilled mounting patterns for Logitech G, Fanatec CSL DD, Moza R5, and Thrustmaster.
Targeted at sim racers seeking direct-drive stiffness without a permanent profile rig footprint.
Direct Drive Ready Without Permanent Footprint
Aluminum profile rigs take up massive floor space that many living rooms and apartments simply cannot accommodate. The Evolution 2 bridges the gap: it delivers enough structural stiffness to hold your steering line cleanly through high-speed curbs, then folds down in seconds when race night wraps up.
Expandable for Shifters and Handbrakes
Playseat also revealed an ecosystem of modular side brackets for shifters, handbrakes, and seat sliders, making the Evolution 2 a versatile foundation as drivers upgrade their gear over time.
