In an unexpected departure from traditional closed-circuit sim racing titles, Kunos Simulazioni has officially confirmed that Assetto Corsa EVO will feature an interactive on-foot exploration mode across its upcoming open-world Eifel countryside map.
Instead of remaining glued to the driver's seat whenever parked, players can unbuckle their five-point harness, step outside the car, and walk around vehicle exteriors, gas stations, roadside cafes, and pit lane garages.
Inspecting Aero and Liveries Up Close
The on-foot camera allows drivers to inspect high-polygon bodywork, functional brake calipers, and cockpit instrumentation with full freedom of movement. For car enthusiasts who take pride in custom liveries or showroom-condition sports cars, walking around your vehicle after a spirited canyon run brings authentic car-meet culture to sim rigs.
Interactive Multiplayer Gatherings
Kunos revealed that on-foot mode will integrate fully into multiplayer servers. Drivers can organize informal car meets in parking areas outside the Nürburgring, pop engine hoods, and walk between parked supercars while voice-chatting with fellow racers before heading out for convoy drives.
Kunos emphasized that casual exploration features do not compromise the simulator's core driving physics. The underlying vehicle dynamics and tire telemetry remain 100% focused on authentic laser-scanned motorsport simulation.
Early Access Rollout
The on-foot walk feature will be bundled alongside the Eifel Free Roam expansion during the next major Assetto Corsa EVO Steam Early Access update.
