A new BeamNG.drive mod called Utah Overlanding Trails expands the game's original Utah map with more than 15 off-road routes, 10 campsites and a difficulty rating system. Created by community modder Anakin2356 and released on October 20, 2026, the modification introduces new challenges for off-road enthusiasts, ranging from relatively easy trails to extreme rock-crawling sections. It also includes optional survival-style rules that encourage players to manage vehicle damage while travelling between campsites.
Unlike standalone map modifications, Utah Overlanding Trails expands the existing Utah environment, adding miles of new routes across its rocky landscapes. Each trail features signs indicating its difficulty, helping drivers decide whether their vehicle is suitable for the terrain ahead. The mod is currently available as version 1.0 Beta through the official BeamNG community .
One of the main features of Utah Overlanding Trails is its difficulty rating system, which divides routes into four categories. Easy trails are marked with green signs and rated between 1 and 3 out of 10, while intermediate routes use blue signs and range from 4 to 6. More challenging trails feature blue signs with a red-topped symbol, indicating difficulties between 7 and 9, where vehicle body damage should be expected.
The most demanding routes are marked with circular red signs and receive a maximum difficulty rating of 10. According to the creator, these sections are likely to cause significant vehicle damage, and tires measuring at least 38 inches are recommended. This gives players a reason to experiment with different off-road vehicles, suspension setups and tire configurations.
