Polyphony Digital revealed the first uncut onboard lap of Sportsland Sugo for Gran Turismo 7 today, confirming that the technical 2.3-mile Japanese circuit will feature full dynamic weather and standing rainfall when it arrives in Update 1.72 on October 15, 2026.
The gameplay showed off the steep elevation changes of the Miyagi layout, focusing especially on the tricky 10% uphill climb off the final corner onto the main straight under heavy rainfall.
"Sugo in the wet is an absolute test of patience. The downhill esses gather standing water right at the apex curbs, so you have to open up your steering wheel and trail the throttle."
The 110R downhill sweeper and the approach to the back chicane pool rainwater rapidly. If your front tires hit standing water while braking under, the car will hydroplane straight across the road into the gravel trap.
Update 1.72 adds the iconic 1994 Ferrari F355 Berlinetta, the Xiaomi Vision Gran Turismo concept, the Mazda RX-Vision GT3 Evo, the classic 1987 Honda Civic Si Group A touring car, and the Honda Stepwgn Spada.
Watching the dynamic dry line form during the demonstration highlighted GT7 updated tire physics. Driving off the line onto wet patches down the front straight will be critical to cool your tires once the rain eases off.
