A decade after the original cult-classic strategy sim launched on PC, Playsport Games has officially revealed Motorsport Manager 2 with a full reveal trailer and an official Steam wishlist page.
Scheduled for a 2027 release on PC, the sequel overhauls race strategy from the ground up with adaptive rival AI, dynamic localized weather systems, expanded headquarters building, and a brand-new racing discipline: motorbikes.
- Rival teams adapt their pit strategies on the fly based on traffic, safety cars, and tire wear. (No more predictable AI scripts)
- Localized weather systems roll across the circuit, leaving some corners soaking wet while the main straight stays bone dry.
- Motorbike racing joins open-wheel, GT, and endurance championships for the first time.
Forces pit wall decisions based on live track conditions instead of memorized pit windows.
- Design custom chassis parts or build and sell proprietary power units to customer teams on the grid.
- Manage driver personalities, team politics, sponsor expectations, and rule vote meetings.
- Full Steam Workshop modding support confirmed for community rosters and real-world liveries from day one.
Gives managers full control over both trackside tactics and long-term factory finances.
Ditching the Script for Reactive AI
In the original 2016 game, once you figured out optimal tire compounds and pit lap counts, beating rival teams often came down to simple math. In Motorsport Manager 2, rival pit walls react directly to what you do.
If you dive into the pits during an unexpected safety car, rivals will decide whether to mirror your strategy or stay out on track for track position. Coupled with rainstorms that move realistically across different sectors of the track, tire gambling becomes a major factor on every lap.
Building Your Racing Legacy
Beyond calling pit stops, the new factory management lets you become an engine supplier to your competitors. If you build a dominant power unit, you can sell engines to rival teams for extra cash, or withhold upgrades to protect your championship lead.
Fans can check out the full reveal trailer above and add the game to their Steam wishlist directly on the official Motorsport Manager 2 Steam Store page ahead of its planned 2027 PC launch.
