Standard aluminum profile cockpits are rock-solid once bolted down, but anyone who shares their rig with a family member or switches between upright GT cars and reclined Formula seats knows the pain of loosening eight T-slot bolts with an Allen key every time.
At the 2026 SimRacing Expo in Frankfurt, cockpit builder SimUltimate demonstrated a clever solution to that exact headache with the debut of the SU-GT2 Racing Cockpit, a heavy-duty chassis built around toolless quick-release cam levers.
Zero-Flex Rigidity Without the Hex Key Hassle
Historically, "quick-adjust" cockpits earned a bad reputation among serious sim racers because thin sliding tubes and pin locks tend to rattle or flex as soon as you stomp an 80kg load-cell brake pedal. SimUltimate engineered the SU-GT2 to eliminate that play by using oversized clamping blocks with dual-stage cam tensioners.
Unlocking the side cams lets the entire pedal deck pivot upward from a flat GT3 floor mount to an elevated Formula cradle with indexed laser-etched angle markings.
The steering column slides fore-and-aft on linear bearings so taller or shorter drivers can dial in their exact 90-degree elbow bend in seconds.
A Smart Fit for Multi-Driver Sim Rooms
For households where two drivers of different heights share one cockpit—or for racers who split their week between iRacing Formula cars and Le Mans Ultimate GT3s—the SimUltimate SU-GT2 brings commercial sim-center adjustability into a clean home footprint.
