Stop Your Car from Spinning When You Lift

Letting off the gas shouldn't send you spinning into the grass. Here is how to keep your back tires planted when you turn into fast corners.

Stop Your Car from Spinning When You Lift

Have you ever let off the gas turning into a fast corner, only to feel the back of your car whip around and spin you out? It happens all the time to new sim racers. Before you start messing with wings or stiffening up springs, there is a super simple fix right in your car setup.

When you take your foot off the gas pedal, both rear wheels need to slow down together. In your car setup menu, look for a setting called Coast Lock or Diff Coast. Think of this like a helper that holds the two back tires together so one doesn't drag behind the other when you coast.

The One-Click Fix Setup Tip

If your car snaps sideways the second you lift off the gas, bump your Coast Lock up by one click. That locks the back wheels together just enough to keep the back end planted in a straight line while you turn toward the curb.

Don't Overdo It Warning

Be careful not to crank it up all the way. If you add too much, the back wheels won't let the car rotate at all. The car will feel like a heavy bus and push straight off the track in slow turns.

Simple Rule of Thumb

If the back end spins when you let off the gas, add one click. If the car won't turn into the corner, take one click away.

Test It for Two Laps

Jump on track, do two laps, and test it in your favorite fast corner. Finding that sweet spot gives you the confidence to attack corners hard without worrying about losing control.
