Asetek Launches Dual Mode Shifter and Handbrake

Asetek SimSports just dropped its Dual Mode Shifter and Load Cell Handbrake, bringing magnetic gate covers and force-based rally braking to sim rigs.

Asetek Launches Dual Mode Shifter and Handbrake

Asetek SimSports officially dropped two missing pieces of its sim racing ecosystem today with the global launch of the Dual Mode Shifter and Load Cell Handbrake. Both connect directly to Asetek RaceHub software or run as standalone hardware for any PC.

Rather than making drivers choose between an H-pattern gearbox or a sequential stick, the Dual Mode Shifter combines both into a single compact housing. A physical toggle switch on the base changes modes instantly, while an internal sliding plate automatically conceals the unused gates when you flip to sequential.

Dual Mode Shifter Highlights
  • 7 forward gears plus reverse with physical lockouts to prevent accidental shifts.
  • Instant sequential mode with magnetic gate cover for rally and touring cars.
  • Contactless Hall sensors eliminate mechanical switch wear over millions of shifts.

Priced at €184.03 before tax, making it a competitive high-end dual shifter.

Load Cell Handbrake Specs
  • 200 kg load cell pressure sensor measures pulling force instead of distance travel.
  • Modular elastomer and spring stack allows fine-tuning from stiff rally to loose drift.
  • Full metal billet construction prevents flex when yanking the lever under adrenaline.

Priced at €150.42 before tax, complete with horizontal and vertical mounting options.

Real Hydraulic Resistance for Rally and Drift

For rally racers tackling narrow gravel stages in EA Sports WRC or BeamNG, having a load-cell handbrake changes how consistently you initiate slides. Measuring pressure instead of handle travel means your arm develops precise muscle memory: pull lightly to rotate the rear through a medium corner, or yank hard to lock the rear wheels for a tight hairpin.

Clean Rig Integration

Both units bolt directly to standard aluminum profile slots with included hardware. With contactless sensors and solid construction, Asetek now delivers serious competition to Fanatec and Heusinkveld in the shifter market.
