Since launching in Steam Early Access for $14.99 USD, Argentine racing simulator PISTA Motorsport has earned a loyal following for its raw South American touring cars, open-wheelers, and circuits like Autódromo de Buenos Aires, Concordia, and San Jorge. Earlier this week, developer REG Simulations confirmed that the sim's biggest missing feature, online multiplayer, is arriving in a two-stage rollout.
Rather than flipping the switch on full championship grids on day one and risking server crashes, the small studio is using a staged approach to stress-test its netcode and collision physics with real drivers.
Stage 1: Four Rotating Public Trackday Lobbies
The initial online update opens four dedicated public trackday servers where drivers can hop on track together, compare lap times, and test door-to-door netcode stability. Each server rotates its car and circuit combination every 6 to 24 hours, giving REG Simulations live telemetry across high-speed slipstream tracks and tight karting layouts.
Stage 2: Scheduled Online Race Sessions
Once the public trackday lobbies verify stable ping handling and contact detection, Stage 2 will unlock structured online race weekends and scheduled series splits. For touring car fans looking for rough-and-tumble South American tin-top racing on a budget, PISTA Motorsport's online leap is right around the corner.
