RaceRoom Announces Massive Historic Touring Car Update

KW Studios took the stage at the 2026 SimRacing Expo in Frankfurt to reveal what the team calls the biggest content patch in the sim's history: the RaceRoom Historic Update 2026, launching this Tuesday, October 20.

RaceRoom's 1990s Super Touring class is already one of the best front-wheel-drive touring car experiences in sim racing, and next week's update expands the grid with iconic new cars and classic circuit layouts. You can preview the full lineup on RaceRoom's official portal.

Four New Historic Race Cars
  • 1998 Peugeot 406 Super Touring and Ford Mondeo Super Touring join the 1990s touring car pack.
  • Classic Mini Cooper S Mk3 and Abarth 1000 TCR bring lightweight vintage door-to-door battles.
  • Updated force feedback and suspension geometry across the historic classes.

Built for close touring car packs where momentum and curb riding decide the race.

1995 Spa With 99-Car Grids & 3 More Tracks
  • Spa-Francorchamps 1995 layout featuring the classic Bus Stop chicane and support for massive 99-car grids.
  • Laguna Seca Historic layout alongside the classic German airfield circuit Fliegerhorst Wunstorf.
  • The 5.5 km Glasbachrennen German hillclimb course makes its full public debut.

Also includes a refreshed user interface and improved VR rendering performance.

Why 1995 Spa and Super Tourers Are a Perfect Match

Modern Tilke-style runoff areas can make slower touring cars feel lost on wide tracks, but 1995 Spa-Francorchamps with the old double-left/right Bus Stop chicane and grass right up to the white lines punishes every mistake. Throwing the Peugeot 406 and Ford Mondeo into that lineup gives touring car fans an incredible reason to fire up RaceRoom on October 20.
